Dr. Viswanaths op-ed, The Hidden Health Costs of the Great - TopicsExpress

Dr. Viswanaths op-ed, The Hidden Health Costs of the Great Recession, has just been published on Pacific Standard, The Science of Society. In it he says, The Great Recession in effect kicked off a natural public health experiment...a clinical trial in which we were each enrolled simply by virtue of being alive, with no semblance of informed consent. The time has come to assess the results, including the final price tag. And he asks, Given the magnitude of its impact, why is talk of the Great Recession as a health story all but absent from the public conversation? Amidst all the anecdotal plot points, why has a coherent and compelling narrative yet to emerge? What do you think about his answers?
