Dr Warners approach takes a little getting used to, but one point - TopicsExpress

Dr Warners approach takes a little getting used to, but one point did hit home, and it hit me when I first read the Quran. Most of it is about us. Those it calls the kaffirun. Those who dont buy the message. That most definitely means me and it probably means you too, unless you are here to try to save us from going astray. Yes, even the first chapter, which is repeated ad nauseam - Keep us on the right path, the path of those on whom you have given blessings, not those who have upset you nor those who have deviated. We are the bogey men and women. Dont be like us. Whatever we do, dont do it. It we talk, discuss, question; dont talk, discuss or question. Well, I dont accept being the bogey man. I dont want to be killed. I want a better world where people are free to be themselves, where we can work things out and learn from our mistakes. I dont want my brother Raif Bedawi to be lashed a thousand times and probably die in the process for asking for a better system, a better country, a better world. Islam is divisive. it casts men against women, men against each other. It is a source of hatred. It is FULL of hatred - hatred for us. Islam itself is hate speech. Do I hate Islam? Yes I do. I hate it because I hate hatred itself. As I said before, I dont hate everything about Islam, but the harm is greater than the good. Do I hate Muslims? Of course I do not. They are my brothers and sisters and they are mostly full of love because human beings are inherently full of love as social animals.
