Dragons open season, Grey takes second at MSU Open Mens Wrestling - Mon, Nov. 3, 2014 at 1:20 PM Results Tiffin Universitys wrestling team opened its season at the Michigan State Open, with Garrett Grey finishing runnerup in the 285 pound weight class. Grey opened with a 9-4 win over Michigan and then followed it up with pins over Ohio State (4:58) and Michigan State (1:26) while also posting a 5-2 score over Eastern Michigan. His lone loss came in the championship match via pin in 3:45 against Adam Coon of Michigan. TU had four other grapplers in action. Jake Cramer (184) lost via pin in 4:17 against West Virginia in his opener but then posted three straight wins (10-5 over West Virginia, pin over Lake Erie in 5:24, and 6-4 over Michigan) before falling by pin in 5:27 to West Virginia. Chris Baker (174) also opened with a loss by pin in 2:33 to Northwestern but got a 9-5 win over Indiana Tech and another win by injury before falling to Michigan State 8-2. Mike Screptock (141) lost 6-4 to Eastern Michigan but then won over Indiana 13-4 and pinned in 8:27 over Notre Dame (OH). He then fell 6-0 to West Virginia. Travis Salyer (133) also went 2-2 at the open, losing to Central Michigan 4-0, then rebounding with a 10-5 win over Purdue and a pin in 48 seconds against Michigan State. He then lost to Purdue by pin in 4:29.
