Dream Team Week-6 Headlines (6/24/14) : ----------------------------------------------------- Stover Puts On Base Running Clinic (Hook Slide Included) Russell Blasts Multiple Triples in Dominant Offensive Game Minick and Tovar Both With Huge Glove Saves/Plays Granados Has Second Straight Game Converting Double Play at 2nd Dream Team Continues Winning Streak with Another Slaughtering ------- The Dream Team played through their first 6:30pm game of the season under the stresses of the sun rather than their usual late night lights. The stands were PACKED, reportedly record breaking attendance as there must have been 15-20 people gathered to watch The Dream Team face off against BPW Happy Hour at Elings Park. The Dream Team was quick to tally runs in the top of the 1st inning scoring 6. While BPW Happy Hour got in some good cuts and brought the game as close as 8-6 it was The Dream Teams bats that once again lit up the park, and all surrounding areas, eventually ending the game as a slaughter rule victory 24-9 in just 45 minutes of play. This was The Dream Teams 5th consecutive win, a new franchise record. Ashley Russell lead the team at the plate with two well earned triples and Evan Stover worked his way out of a pickle, also preventing a routine out at 1st, by demonstrating a text book hook slide on BPW Happy Hours 3rd Basemen. Danny Minick went Alex Rodriguez on a hard hit rope to his left at 3rd base and converted the play to 1st Base for the out. Jenna Wolff Tovar had a stabbing save in Right Field as a hard hit ball was drilled opposite field, her play saved several extra bases and a run from scoring. Sandy Granados ended the game, securing the slaughter rule victory, in the bottom of the 5th inning by catching a line drive at 2nd and picking off the base runner at 1st for the double play. The Dream Team sits in 1st Place (5-0) two games ahead of the 2nd Place BEI Sensors (3-2). The Dream Team also has the fewest runs scored against them out of any team in their league. Next week The Dream Team will play the 2nd Place team, BEI Sensors, at 6:30PM on Field-1 at Elings Park. Ill see YOU on the diamond!
