Dreams do come true! This is my dream kit! I have wanted a real DW for many years and I didnt think Id actually be able to afford one for a while still but things worked out incredibly and this beauty arrived on Friday! It just so happens that it has the exact sizes I wanted plus the finish is one of my favourites! It took the hard work out of deciding what it should look like if I were to have custom ordered a kit! DW Collectors series Maple kit with SSC shell technology Ruby Glass Finishply with chrome hardware 8ply maple shells with 3ply reinforcement rings 13x9 VLT, B note - Evans 360 clear G2/Evans 360 clear G1 16x16 X, G note - Evans 360 clear G2/Evans 360 clear G12 24x16 VLX, B note - Evans 360 clear Heavyweight Emad/stock black dw resonant (no port) Even though this kit has the gold and silver badges from mid 2000s(?), it is brand new. The story goes that a guy ordered this kit to match pre-existing shells so he got it with the older badges and wing nuts etc... Even down to the labels on the inside of the drums... These are stamped like the older dws. For whatever reason the dude backed out of the purchase and I ended up with this beauty! I currently have the black and silver badges on order to make it period correct. I also have a white reso head on its way which will look amazing... As you probably noticed, I dont have a snare drum at the moment. Im waiting on a 14x6.5 1mm brass dw to ship from the US. Fingers crossed it will arrive today! I want to finish by thanking the legends at Cranbourne Drum Superstore, Evan and Chris. They were nothing but a pleasure to work With. Thanks guys! When the snare comes in and I give my cymbals a clean up, take better pictures and do a proper post with everything included. :)
