Drill Sergeants, Good afternoon. Im not sure if you remember me or not. A while ago, I submitted a Battle In Distress. After returning from my deployment from Afghanistan, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. I found out, not too long ago, that after surgery and the 6 long months of brutal chemotherapy, I am officially in remission. Dont get me wrong, I am still suffering some decent side effects (little feeling in my fingertips and hardly any feeling on the bottoms of both feet) but I am proud to say that I will live to fight another day. Although the battle was rough, and trust me, I wanted to give up so many times. I was able to dig in and fight hard. Regardless of how I felt, I still only missed one drill weekend (because I was command directed to stay home). I hope that this shows fellow Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, and Airmen that no matter what life throws at you, it is possible to look at it for what it is, and beat the piss out of it. The battle may have been won, but the war is far from over. Thank you for the few times you guys checked up on me and keep fighting the good fight. Thanks again. NA
