Driving bested me yesterday. My first practical, nailed the maneuvers, emergency stop etc. Id started chatting to the examiner and was quite enjoying the drive, then he decided to take me on the prom. Ive always driven to the sea terminal but he asked me to go up by Sam Webbs which threw me a little as I wasnt too sure on road position. Anyway, I make my move and all of a sudden he hits the brake and it goes silent. Its the zebra crossing and Ive missed someone waiting to cross. Of course I knew then Id failed. Moved off in silence and 30 seconds later we are chatting away like nothing happened, almost perfect drive back to the test centre and even get my parallel park pretty much spot on. Yesterday I was seething, today I am mildly furious with myself. Oh well, back to it!
