Drove BLR to Kochi on Sunday. Took NH 209 till Coimbatore. From Coimbatore to Palakkad was an absolute nightmare. Took 2 hours easily. Not just because of the RTO check post but the roads are terrible. Most Bangalore roads are in better condition! And thats saying a lot! Palakkad onwards it was slow but relatively smooth. Is there any alternative route from Kochi to BLR that avoids this Palakkad mess? Left Bangalore at 8:00 am. Reached Coimbatore around 12:45 or so and had lunch. Reached the outskirts of Coimbatore city at 2:00 pm. Reached my hotel in Ernakulam at 7:00 pm.
