Drove back from the coast late last night, just getting going. Thanks for all of the concern/reaching to help when I was stuck. I usually park the truck and trailer behind a sand dune so anyone driving by at night will not see my camp as easily. Tuesday Morning I was going to take the dogs down beach and I had forgotten that I left the truck in 2 wheel drive. So when I went to pull out the back tires started to spin and I thought no big deal the front tires will just pull me out. Well the back of truck sunk to the chassis by the time I realized what I had done. The I put the truck in 4 wheel drive low and it couldnt pull us out and the front sunk all the way down. So I started to dig, didnt plan real well, and stayed in the sun way too long. So Tuesday Night I walked down beach to a tall sand dune and called some folks, left messages but had no idea what was going on once I lost cell service. Its usually no service at all but sometimes at night from this dune I can get some calls out before it drops altogether. So its about 10 P.M.. and I go back and start digging, but with a plan this time. I dug out each wheel, jacked the truck up like I was changing a flat tire and dug out under the truck putting wood and other debris under each tire. I completely dug out the underside of the truck so once I pulled off of the wood I wouldnt sink again. At about 4:00 A.M. I went to bed. Waiting till the morning to try and get out. Just as I was getting ready to give it a shot, and if this didnt work I was really jammed up, a truck pulls up and these two guys needed gas. I told them if the pulled me out I would follow them in and if the ran out of gas I would go get it for them Obviously they pulled me out and I followed them off beach.
