Drum-a-Thon Aug. 9-10 The McKinney Boyd High School Bronco Band invites the public to its 2013 Drum-a-Thon this weekend in McKinney. Two events are planned for the band’s annual tradition: a performance at 5:30 p.m. Friday on the steps of the McKinney Performing Arts Center in downtown McKinney; and the drum-a-thon – continuous drumming – from 6 a.m. to midnight Saturday at McKinney Boyd, with set performances at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. Proceeds benefit the McKinney Boyd Bronco Band program. The McKinney Performing Arts Center is at 111 N. Tennessee Street. McKinney Boyd is at 600 N. Lake Forest Drive in western McKinney.
