Every so often you hear a drummer play on a record and he or she makes a big impression on you, then after that one record that drummer disappears into obscurity. And so youre left wondering why and wishing theyd done more stuff you could hear. Andrew Paresi is one of those. His playing on Morrisseys first solo album Viva Hate (and other sessions around that time) is super-tasteful and stylish, and every so often he drops something into a song that, even though Ive heard a million times, still makes me smile.
