Dubai Day 6: Got up around 9am after only 2 hours of sleep the whole night. Adjusting to new sleeping patern is taking a bit too long, no? I hope it gets better. Oh Lord! PLEASE. :/ Today, we planned the same, Metro ride to Zainabs work place but this time around I decided to board the bus from the start and then to the closest subway and then change the line to her work place. Boarding the bus was okay :S only then I realized, my friends idea of cabbing sounded much better but i was so interested in riding Dubai transit to get the sense of travelling in the city, so dint really pay attention to any other means of travelling. The bus took a while to come and the whole journey to her work place was 1.5 hour or so. So Dubai Metro has these sections for Women Only and rest are for everyone e.g. Women, Men, LGBT? Haa! :P Last time when I boarded the metro i had no idea where I was standing and ended up in the general section. This time around I wanted women only, purposely! It was much better there. I saw some men using the doors for women section to enter the subway and then changing it from inside. Two of them kept standing there for a while, one realized after sometime that there is something wrong with this cabin other dint bother paying attention and boarded off next station. Thats understandable. It was fun. A heads up for my friends who plan to visit Dubai in future, you are not allowed to eat, drink or sleep on the metro. Not even chewing gum. However, you can use to same gum to stick your eyes lashes apart so that you dont doze off and get fined. Hehe. On my way to JLT station I get to see all dubai through this over head line for subway. Dubai Marina, Internet City, Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa ye wo. Finally got off the subway, took a walk to her work place, used my scarf as a shade from the sunlight, yes, Dubai you couldnt get me one umbrella, too bad. :( :( :D :D By the time I reached her work place it became quite clear that my headache from a sleepless night wouldnt go away easily. Saw my friend, she was also sick from the sore throat and fever, I guess its viral I heard other people had the same kind of feeling too. I feared I caught the same and felt even more sick than before. :D Anyway we both decided not to do anything very active today. Just got in the car and went to this mall to buy some stuff. Dubai traffic is crazy, even until 8pm it was packed. Watched Bollywood movie Queen together, the name of theatre i have to ask**. I had watched this movie just one night before leaving for Dubai but really loved it, amazing plot - movie lovers make a note, so watching it again was still fun. My friend loved it, too. :) After movie, we just came home like nice kids, though the khuwaari for finding our parking spot is pretty obvious now, had to search 2 parking garages, 3 floor on each side, 2 times.. yeah add that to the sickness and headache. Got home we both were too tired to exchange any sort of information, not even our herbal tea session.. and todayyy for the first time in Dubai I slept on time. Had to, after all this! Hope I will have a good sleep tonight. See you tomorrow, world! :)
