Dubai is all about the sparkle, the bling! Cake decorators and consumers need to be aware of the differences between edible and non toxic. Do you know the difference? Me personally, I love my 24k gold cappuccino from Emirates Palace. Is it edible?...no, not really. Is it non toxic....yes. Non toxic elements such as gold and silver (including real gold) on cakes and cookies should always be kept to small accents. If they are used on a large scale, the consumer should be informed that it is not edible.
