Due to a rise in rabies cases in 2012 & 2013 among wildlife, Anne Arundel County has provided funds for the continuation of Oral Rabies Vaccinations (ORV) to be distributed starting September 3. Dogs are more likely than cats to be attracted to the bait containing the ORV. The vaccine itself is safe and rarely causes any reaction, however the bait contains a high fat content and could cause diarrhea. Please keep an eye out for the small square bait and have your pets avoid them the best you can.
