Due to the cancellation of the initial first stage, hill time trial at Maracas, the King George V Night Criterium essentially became the first stage of the 2013 Tour of TnT. Specatators saw some exciting and high tempo cycling. In the same vein, the TTCF will like to wish a speedy recovery to former National Champion, Guy Costa after he crashed on the first lap of the main event. At the end of the 1 hour and 2 laps event, Jason Perryman of Heatwave was the eventual winner after he broke away with Calixto Bello (Team Predator), Geron Williams (Team Foundation) and Henner Rodel (Team Petrotrin) just 10 minutes into the race. The four lapped the bunch with 20 minutes remaining, setting up an exciting sprint finish. 10-Time National Road Race Champion, Emile Abraham (Team Predator) would win the bunch sprint to finish 5th overall while Akil Campbell (Sonics) was the first Junior.
