Due to the unfavorable conditions at Green Mesquite last night I had to cancel our performance. I am sorry that this happened. I arrived to begin setting up for the concert and found several booths occupying most of the parking lot and a very loud generator running just outside the stage. I checked the stage area and decided that the noise was just too much to tolerate. The booths took up or blocked most of the parking space and they made entry and exit very difficult and dangerous. I spoke with management and made a decision to cancel due to the noise of the generator, which he said would run all night. I knew that few if any people would tolerate that noise and it would have been so distracting to the Band that we could not perform under those conditions. I made the decision to cancel the event but it was too late to notify our fans. If an event is cancelled early enough, I e-mail and post on Facebook that the event has been cancelled but last night was an usual situation. We normally know well in advance if an event has to be cancelled. Green Mesquite should have notified us of the conditions and I would have cancelled early enough to notify people. That did not happen.. I hope to see you at our next event.
