Dummy advice ----- Hi mums, looking for some advice with dummy use. My 5 week old bub is very hard to settle in the evening into his bassinet. During the day he settles to sleep pretty easily with just light fussing. Last night we tried a dummy for the first time to get him to sleep and it worked really well but I have been told that if they come to depend on a dummy for sleep it could affect him sleeping through the night as when he wakes between sleep cycles he wont be able to go back to sleep? So my question is should I just be using a dummy as an absolute last resort for sleep settling for his night time sleep or am I pretty safe to give it to him for settling before every sleep seeing as he seems so content with it? Some advice from other mums is very much appreciated! Thanks very much.
