Dunbars number is something I find fascinating. Couple it with this idea: The word religion derives from the Latin religare, meaning “to bind back” or “bind together.” Religion’s function is to bind individuals both to God and to one another. And essentially what you get is the fact that religion exists largely to navigate the complications brought about AFTER humans stopped existing in nomadic tribes of hunter/gatherers. #Readbooks
