Dunedin, not wanting to be left out of the Earthquake activity in - TopicsExpress

Dunedin, not wanting to be left out of the Earthquake activity in recent times, had a 4.7 , 120km off shore at a depth of 148km this afternoon. It was classed as light and few wold have felt it. It is though, a very timely reminder that anywhere in the country is vulnerable. This location also brings to mind how close a Tsnami could start if the quake had the right characteristics. At that distance there would be maybe less than an hour before a tsunami would hit the shore line. Go to "Get Thru" for tsunami information and tell anyone you know to register with Lert Info so that should something happen, as many people as possible are fed information. The more official information they get the more informed they will be.
