Durbanville Villians beats Vob 9-4 Sunday 18-01-2015 Tanner Leighton collected three hits, helping Durbanville Villians to a 9-4 victory over Vob on Sunday at Sabelco Park Durbanville. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the sixth and seventh innings. Durbanville Villians got the win thanks in large part to Trevor Caughrys dominant, six-strikeout performance. Durbanville Villians pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only five hits. G Robertson was charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked two and struck out two. Durbanville Villians didnt relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the second inning when it scored on an RBI single by Kevin Townend. Durbanville Villians increased its lead with five runs in the third. Leighton doubled, plating Rowan Ebersohn and Tyrone Baglione to start the inning. That was followed up by Keegan Swanepoels single, plating Leighton. Durbanville Villians added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Jayson Ripepi kicked things off with a single, bringing home Kieran Clackett. After pushing across one run in the top of the ninth, Vob faced just a 9-4 deficit. An RBI single by M Scritten sparked Vobs rally. Gavin Jeffries got the last out, as Vobs Marc Quickfall struck out.
