During a lengthy in-car questioning about the immune system, bacteria and viruses... E: Whats a really dangerous virus? Me: Hmmm. HIV is a dangerous virus. It can be controlled, but it never goes away. E: Why dont the Macrophages just eat the Virus and kill it? Me: Well, HIV sort of corrupts the immune cells to make more HIV cells instead of making healthy normal cells, I think. Cancer does that to cells too. Sort of like when Anakin becomes Darth Vader. E: Ohhh. So the good life force gets corrupted to the Dark Side. And it doesnt know how to find the Jedi Path anymore because its all confused. And then there is more and more Dark Side but no R2D2 or Luke or Yoda to save it. Me: Ha! Exactly. Bodies do not usually work like movies. E: OK. Sooooo.... Can you tell me everything you know about the Human Body now? Me: Ummm!!!... That would take awhile. Your Doctors Appointment is in 10 minutes. E: Just tell me the important stuff, then. Me: *helpless laughter*. 10 minutes still wont cut it, love.
