During an hospital appt today the very nice young nurse who was taking my bloods was talking to me about the SNP and how good they would have been for Scotland. I asked her if she knew that Mr. Salmond had already informed the NHS in Scotland that they would have a £500 million budget cut whilst at the same time telling the people of Scotland that the Westminster Government had cuts planned and would be the death of the NHS. She didnt know that, nobody had told her. She still thought independence would have been better because it was a change. When I said that all their policies were based on oil being worth almost twice as much as it is now she didnt know how much oil was worth or that it had anything to do with independence either. She didnt think that there was a religious divide which came back to the surface during the vote as she lived in Coatbridge and had never seen anything like that. She was a very nice although fairly poorly informed lady who just had a feeling that we would be better with a change. I really dont know what can be done to combat or alter that type of thinking. One can only try I suppose.
