During my travels today to deliver T-shirts to the EHS 80s GTG - TopicsExpress

During my travels today to deliver T-shirts to the EHS 80s GTG Alumni for the Race for the Cure tomorrow I drove out Springwater RD. As I left Oregon City I could see the huge smoke trails in the sky. It reminded me of a line that Robert Service wrote in the Cremation of Sam McGee. The greasy smoke in an inky cloak, went streakin down the sky. The s,oke literally filled the sky and I could not see much blue. I dropped off the last t-shirt and then headed down into town to grab a soda pop. Town looked pretty normal other than the fact that the east winds had picked back up and the temps were near 93 degrees. You could tell that there was a desire of the people to return to normal life. On my way out of town I stopped at Dicks Logging Supply to get a 36 Pit Fire t-shirt and found that it was closed. Then I headed a little bit further towards the Timber Park as I knew that they had an update posting there. There was a t-shirt booth by the postings so I picked one up and talked with the guys at the booths and other people around the postings. After a few minutes I saw two young gentlemen walking out from the Timber Park. They were obviously tired and a tad dirty but no worse for wear. They walked up to the t-shirt booth and each bought one. I then asked them if they were helping fight the fire and they said that they were. I said THANK YOU VERY MUCH and shook their hands. They talked a a bit and then had to go. More of the front line crews were walking around noqw outside the secured area anbd I continued the thank yous. You could tell that they were all dog tired but I felt it was the least that I could do. Everyone owes these young men and women and the whole team a huge Thank You. Its the least we can do.
