During my younger days, about 40 years ago, a bowl of mee cost me only RM0.10......today it cost me RM5.50 (to be conservative) and that is 5,400% increase; translating to 13.5% inflation rate. This is just one aspect of food, wat about petrol, tolls, electricity, etc. Wages-wise, lets concentrate on the fresh graduates who earn RM2,700 to RM3,000/mth now compared to RM1,300 some 26 years ago. This translates to 5.09% incremental. So it is why the middle class Malaysians cannot cope with living cost and they have to endure a decreasing living standard However government statistics indicated our core inflation rate is merely 2-2.8%. for 2014. Wat does this mean to us? Who to believe? Reality on the ground or mere statistics propaganda?
