During the Rivonia trial, Nelson Mandela maintained a cool & cheerful mien despite the seriousness of treason charges. The South Africas apartheid regime was cheered on by western imperialists led by UK & USA but that didnt dampen his spirits due to a clean conscience. His trial was bungled & unfortunately he was jailed during which the imperialists labled him a terrorist. On his release, the imperialists guilt catapulted him to global stardom for standing on a higher moral ground. He died as a global icon. President Uhuru Kenyatta clean conscience can also afford him a smile despite the imperialists insistence of persuing a case that defies all the logic in law. President Uhurus show of humility was adorable because even western imperialists who claim to respect the rule of law wouldnt have honored the ICC summons. The holy scriptures says God will turn your stumbling blocks to stepping stones for a higher calling. We can only speculate as Madiba became a global icon & for President Uhuru only God knows.
