During the bible study today we came across a passage I would like to share. This is one that I learned about as a young man, and then our dad reminded us that the fourteenth verse was our night time prayer at bed time. I am glad he shared this because now I know why it is one of my favorite passages. Psalms 19:7-14 7: The law (doctrine) of the LORD is perfect, converting (restoring) the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8: The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart (Nehemiah 9:13): the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9: The fear of the LORD are true (Hebrew--truth) and righteous altogether. 10: More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter than honey and the honeycomb (the dropping of honeycombs). 11: Moreover by them is thy servant warned (Proverbs 6:22): and in keeping of them there is great reward. 12: Who can understand his errors? cleanse me from secret faults (secret sins--Psalms 90:8). 13: Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent fro the great (much) transgression. 14: Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength (rock), and my redeemer (Isaiah 44:6).
