During the press meet held at the chamber of District Collector cum District Election Officer held on 19/03/2014, at 3:30 pm, the following information were given out for all:- 1. Total number of Polling stations in the East District:- 207nos. 2. Dates for Nomination:- 19th to 26th March 2014 at the Office of District Collector-cum-RO, between 11:00 am to 3:pm on all days excluding Sundays. 3. Scrutiny of nomination:- 27th March 2014. 4. Withdrawal of nominations:- 29th March 2014 between 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. 5. Allotment of symbols:- 29th March after 3:00 pm. 6. Date of Poll:- 12th April 2014 (7:00 am to 5:00 pm) 7. Conduct of Mock Poll:- before 7 am on 12th April 2014 with minimum 50 votes. 8. Sensitive/Critical Polling Stations from the angle of law and orders:- 27 nos. Micro observer will be appointed/posted for these polling stations. 9. Total number of Sector Magistrates appointed in East District :- 12nos 10. Total number of Flying Squads appointed in East District:- 24 nos. 11. Total number of Static Surveillance Magistrates appointed in East District:- 14nos 12. Total number of Video Surveillance Team appointed in East District:- 12nos 13. Total number of Presiding Officer appointed:- 250nos (including reserve) 14. Total number of voters in East District:- 148375 Male:-77533 Female:- 70842 including voters of 32-Sangha. There are 51 parts/polling stations for 32-Sangha in the entire state/Sikkim. Since DC/East is the Returning Officer of 32-Sangha, Assembly Constituency, all electors of 51parts/polling stations of the state/Sikkim have been included/counted in the East District. SVEEP activities on full swing to make voters aware to vote responsibly and specially about NOTA (None of the above) provision for the first time in Election. Display of EVM in the public /bazaar areas are being carried out under SVEEP.
