Or, you may mail a check made out to Jackson Community Food Pantry to us @ 701 Greenwood, Jackson, MI 49203. We are a 501c3 nonprofit charity so your donations will be tax deductable. We are strictly a volunteer staffed organization, so we have no paid staff. We require NO financial information from our clients. Money is desperately needed due to the increases in current trends in client households served by us. Comparing the the first 38 weeks of 2011 to the first 38 weeks of 2013, the number of households served by the Jackson Community Food Pantry increased 67.2% which translated to an increase of 70.2% in the number of people served. The increase can be attributed partially to the cuts to food stamps. The increase in the cost of living also contributes because of the increases in gas prices and the downturn in the economy in general. The neighborhoods served by the Jackson Community Food Pantry are especially hard hit. The Jackson Community Pantry has purchased over 145,000 pounds of food this year at a cost of around $49,000 so far. WE NEED YOUR HELP. Mark M, Smith, Executive Director.
