During this loooong wait for the Super Bowl, Ive been absorbing as much of the media frenzy as I can, but taking breaks by listening to what should be the Seahawks house band, Phish. I say this because Coach Pete Carroll and Phish frontman Trey Anastasio seem to me to share a very similar life philosophy. Quite simply, they believe in the power of celebration and having fun. Both men are extremely motivated, active and energetic and both have said in interviews in the past that one of the goals of their chosen profession---whether it is football or music---is to make a celebration out of it. I really have no clue why some people dont like Carroll, but I think its possibly because they are sourpusses who hate to see someone having fun coaching A GAME. And I sometimes sense the same sort of attitude from the type of people who say they hate Phish. Life is supposed to be serious, and who would dare think to have fun at a concert! Wouldnt the world be a better, more beautiful place if we all celebrated our lives more?
