Dwayne Johnson is a famous wrestler and actor whom I like. He is well known for his acts of generosity as well as his genuine humility, maintained despite his fame and wealth. He is also well known by his wrestling name: The Rock. Its a name meant to characterize his large, rock-hard muscles. It also happens to be a title which he borrowed from another who is infinitely mightier than Mr. Johnson: the Lord God! Deuteronomy 32:3-4: For I will proclaim the Lords name. Declare the greatness of our God! THE ROCK - His work is perfect; all His ways are entirely just. A faithful God, without prejudice, He is righteous and true (HCSB). Our God is the one true Rock; the mighty Rock of Ages! The psalmist supplies a harmonious echo of the same thought: The Lord is my rock... God - His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is pure. He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is a rock? Only our God. (Psalm 18:2, 30-31). With no disrespect to Mr. Johnson, there is only one true Rock - a point which he would readily accede. Lets start this work week with an outpouring of praise, adoration, declaration, celebration, and worship of our awesome God! He is worthy! He is worthy! He is worthy! Praise Him, all the earth! Worship the Lord, and give Him glory! Ascribe to Him magnificent majesty! Praise Him and worship Him in spirit and truth. Let everyone praise God! Amen.
