Dynaco distributed the famous SEAS A-Series of bookshelf - TopicsExpress

Dynaco distributed the famous SEAS A-Series of bookshelf loudspeakers that were manufactured in Denmark, using input from Dynacos David Hafler and Seas Ragnar Lian. The A-Series were marketed between from 1970 until the 1980s. The Dynaco A-25 model proved to be extremely successful, selling over 600,000 units. The A-25 employed a modified aperiodic bass reflex design with a rubber surround 10 inch woofer and a sweet dome tweeter with a five position tweeter level control. It combined astounding, quality sound reproduction with a reasonable price, making it highly competitive with much more expensive loudspeakers. The patented aperiodic (essentially non-resonant so the bass is not boomy or overpowering) 10 inch woofer design utilized a highly-damped vent instead of a reflex port, whose acoustic resistance is very carefully controlled. The resistant venting action lowered the Q of the system and reduced impedance variation near resonance in the A-Series speakers. This pair of A25s has white grilles, both with the original badges and the wood cabinets are in excellent condition. A25s work great with a good quality vintage receiver. They really shine with a classic tube amp like Dynacos Stereo 70 or a monster amp like the Dynaco 416. These speakers sound great with rock, jazz or classical. They image amazingly well and are so smooth that you can listen for hours and really enjoy the music. They dont have the screeching top end like most component system speakers. Heres a great Dynaco trick- take 4 of the A-25s and stack each side with TWO speakers, tweeter-to-tweeter!!!! Awesome sound !!! Start your vintage system with these great speakers or add them to your existing system- and dont forget to get out your old vinyl LPs and enjoy some terrific classic sound. call Greg at 845 651 1903 No emails answered- please call.
