D’Ovidio focused on four in a row: Perth Glory Women Release Perth Glory Women will be paying scant regard to the Westfield W-League table when they travel east to take on Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday, according to midfielder Elisa D’Ovidio. Glory have won their first three games of the new campaign, while the rock-bottom Wanderers are yet to claim a point from their opening trio of matches. But D’Ovidio, who scored her first goal of the season in last weekend’s hard-fought 3-1 win over Adelaide United, said the league had already thrown up a few surprises and Glory would need to be on their toes to continue their record start to a season. “Every away trip is hard because of how far we’ve got to travel, so we can’t afford to take any game lightly,” D’Ovidio said. “We’ve had a good start and we want to keep that going but it won’t just happen. We’re going to have to work hard for every result and we’ll be ready to do that. “Regardless of how many games they’ve won, we’ll be doing what we have to do to get the three points.” D’Ovidio believes a pre-season schedule, which included a team bonding trip to Broome, has been crucial in the squad achieving peak fitness. “I think all the girls have gelled really well,” she said. “We’re probably the fittest we’ve ever been and we’re going into every game with every player wanting to win and we’re dragging each other along. “But the W-League has had a few surprises this year and you have to be on your game every week.” Glory have beaten Brisbane Roar, Newcastle Jets and Adelaide United in their best start to a season in Westfield W-League history to go into Round Four in second place on the table. Goal difference separates Glory from league leading Sydney FC, who take on Melbourne Victory on Monday.
