E-DEVOTIONAL Cookies.Wed 05/03 Theme: The Double Edged Sword Dividing The Spirit & Soul. 1 *(Hebrews 4:12 ISV) For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul and spirit, joints and marrow, as it judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart.* -The Spirit & soul amazingly are the closest & non visual elements of man as to the physical body. (Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.) Now we see there was an earth (non living body) and God breathe life into it through the nostril. God was creating one who will be like Him as in image & likeness to see over all His creation. That image is the breathe of life which is His Spirit without whom man is dead in the eyes of God. The Spirit is the every fundamental in mans nature therefore Paul once said ye are Spirit. The soul is the individual self image, thus the way we think, our emotions & so on. It was born out of contact of the Spirit & body man became a living soul so then when one die, the breathe goes back to God & the body (container) back to the ground. We may never realized the soul & Spirit until we are broken or cut apart by the Word. I remember when I started College with pass average which also came with many uncomfortable moment, I got broken than ever before & the Lord took me through the lesson of body, soul & Spirit because I saw myself apart. I also became sensitive than before then for the deep presence of God was with me every morning where He usually say, son I am with you. Finnaly, made a remark that when one is broken He either become better than before or as worse death. Thus with the Spirit or without the Spirit respectively.
