E&E reports, Production of oil, gas and coal on federal lands and waters fell 7 percent last year, driven in large part by less coal being mined from Wyoming, according to a new report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The decline caused the federal estates share of total domestic fossil fuel production to also drop from 27.7 percent to 25 percent, leaving it far below the 36 percent share just a decade ago, according to EIA, an independent arm of the Energy Department.”
