EARLY MORNING Y HIKES -- TUESDAY/THURSDAY - 5:45 am at the Y Trailhead: Several of us have hiked the Y in the early mornings over the past two years as a way to condition and stay in shape. If you want to get in better shape, lose a few pounds, or tighten up the glutes and quads, then consider hiking the Y as your exercise routine! Just hiking it twice a week will accelerate your fitness goals! Come join us every Tuesday and Thursday morning as we hike the Y trail! Meet at the Y Trailhead where we will head up the trail by 5:45 am sharp. We will have carpools leaving Orem at 5:30 am sharp...meet in the Harmons parking lot (800 North and 800 East) in the parking stalls north of the Harmons gas station along 800 North. Our group hikes to the top part of the Y within a half hour and then are back down within an hour. Slower hikers are welcome to come join us and turn around at the 30-minute mark and head back down with us. As the weeks progress, you will be able to get further up the trail in the time allotted. Even though the trail is dark in the morning, headlamps are unnecessary as the city lights make the trail easy to see. We continue hiking it all winter using microspikes on our boots (we will sell these wholesale next month). Bring water, a warm layer, and trekking poles. Bring a friend, spouse, teens, anyone who wants to get in shape!
