EASA Part 66 Examinations What is EASA Part 66? Part 66 details the requirements to be met by individuals and National Aviation Authorities for Aircraft Maintenance licence initial issue and continued validity. Category A - Maintenance Certifying Mechanic Category B1 - Maintenance Certifying technician (Mechanical) Category B2 - Maintenance Certifying Technician (Avionics) Category B3 – Maintenance Certifying technician (Non-pressurised aircraft 2000kg and below) Category C - Base Maintenance Certifying Engineer Am I eligible to take the Part 66 exams? There are no experience requirements to sit the EASA Part 66 modules. You will however need to supply proof of your practical maintenance experience to the licensing authority to be assessed along with your examination results in order to apply for the EASA Part 66 Licence. I already have an AME qualifications/an AME License from a non-European Union (EU) country, do I get any Part 66 module credits through prior learning? Part 66 only allows national certifying staff qualifications from member state countries to be converted to Part 66 licences. COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No. 1149/2011 What documents are required to apply for the EASA Part 66 exams? Application form. Payment form with method of payment. Certified copy of your passport for identification purposes ( first time application only). Can I cancel or transfer my exams after they have been confirmed? Requests for cancellations, transfers or amendments to a booking must be made in writing at least 30 days before the examination. An administration fee of £33 is payable for each cancellation, transfer or amendment. Examination bookings cannot be amended within the 30 days prior to the examination. Candidates failing to attend an exam will lose all fees paid. Who can certify my passport copy? If you are employed by a Maintenance organisation your passport should be stamped and certified as a true copy by your Quality Manager. If you are not in employment we will accept passports certified by a person in authority (doctor, solicitor etc.). How many exam modules can I sit in one day? There are 2 exam sessions on each exam day, morning and afternoon. Both sessions are 3 hours and 15 minutes long. You can sit as many modules as you require as long as they fit within the time. Results notifications and pass certificates will be posted to your home address as advised on your application within 10 working days after we have received the exams back from the overseas exam venue. The training courses and examination shall be passed within 10 years prior to the application for a Part 66 licence.
