EC DRIVE RESULTS ARE IN! After counting buckets and buckets of EC last night for the better part of 5 hours, with the help of Maddie Stewart, David Johnson, Emily White and Shawn White, we have FINISHED. The following are the TOTALS which each class raised over the last few weeks: Faculty: 62.66EC ($23.38USD) MD1: 421.55EC ($157.29USD) MD2: 468.73EC ($174.90USD) MD3: 506.72EC ($189.08USD) MD4: 378.36EC ($141.18USD) Total: 1838.02EC ($685.83USD)!!!!!! Congratulations to all the classes for this money raised. Although MD3 class raised the most overall money, for the purposes of the ice cream party contest, the MD2 class has won the drive (total amount raised divided by total number of students in class as per Moodle participants). Good job MD2, you guys just keep on winning everything!!! Along with money raised from the SJSM t-shirt sales as well as extra SGA fundraising efforts, we will be adding an extra $370USD to this project. This means the student body and faculty have raised.....ready for it...... $1055.83 USD!!! All of this money will be going towards buying Christmas gifts for the unprivileged children in Anguilla. With the help of Dr. Banks and the Department of Social Development, we will be buying gifts with all of this money and distributing them over the holidays to these children. I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the students and the faculty as well as any family members who donated (please send our thank yous to them). I will continue to keep the student body updated, as we spend the next week at the banks cashing in bags and bags of money, buying gifts, and distributing. The clothing and food drive is still going on and we have TONS of donations. Please continue to bring in your clothing, food and items until block exams when we will collect it and donate it to the Department of Social Development, where they will distribute appropriately. You should all be proud of yourselves, as this money will be providing many Anguillan children with the feeling of Christmas, which they may have not had if it werent for your generosity. Happy studying and have a great weekend! SGA Executive Board
