ECHOES OF THE RIVER WIND by Jacobs Adewale ...Tired toads with their baritone Crooned the discordant incidental music; Gulls and finches quiver in their nests, Shrouded by stares of the milky moon; Bellowing bats in their league Took to the firmament – Where dusk stretched itself across the sky – Shedding flaps in the atmosphere, Displaying anonymous aerobatics Before the consciousness of the night, Even as echoes of the river wind Yelp incessantly, stridently; Torturing lily-livered leaves that limply cling To bosoms of bare branches hungry for slumber. Grisly gusts of wind knew no sympathy for the sands That lay frightened by the river shore, With particles dashing helter-skelter On open tracks of the air, Crowding the mind with pictures Of looming tears from the clouds. - See more at: princewhales.blogspot/#sthash.KPxfVTaF.dpuf
