ECI DISQUALIFIES 9 OF PUNJAB TO CONTEST ELECTIONS Chandigarh, March 10: The Election Commission of India ( ECI ) has circulated a list of nine persons from Punjab , who have been disqualified under Section 10-A of Representation of the People Act, 1951 from contesting elections. Disclosing this here today an official spokesman said that the list of disqualified persons included Mr. Kulwinder Singh ( Jalalabad), Mr. Hans Raj ( Jalalabad), and Mr Kulwinder Singh ( Muktsar ) have been barred to contest elections till 9th May 2014,whereas Mr. Karnail Singh s/o Mr. Baltej Singh resident of Village Sikhanwala ( Faridkot), Mr. Swarn Singh s/o Mr. Chand Singh ( Faridkot ), Smt. Gurdev Singh w/o Mr. Baldev Singh ( Fardidkot ), Smt. Prabhjot Kaur w/o Sh. Sukhjinder Singh ( Faridkot ), Sh. Nirmal Singh ( Village Bhadal Thuha ) and Mr. Prem Kumar ( Nabha ) have also been disqualified to contest elections till 7th August 2016. The spokesman further said that this list has been provided to all the Returning Officers in the state
