ECONOMIC GROWTH | If net migration in Britain fell to Camerons - TopicsExpress

ECONOMIC GROWTH | If net migration in Britain fell to Camerons target of below 100,000 a year - far lower than the 260,000 recorded in the year to June - and stayed at that level, the economy would be 11 percent smaller by 2060 than if inflows held at around 200,000, according to the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, a leading think tank. SPP: Yes, migrants make a valuable contribution in a range of areas. Sustainable migration (balanced with emigration) should be welcomed. But migrants do not ensure a) an increase per capita GDP (productivity and workforce participation are the important factors) or b) any material or sustainable difference to the age structure of a society. Can you pick any more faults in this shallow and deliberate propaganda piece? Why is it that only bank economists and finance companies were interviewed?
