EFF STATEMENT ON ATTACK ON THE BLACK PEOPLE OF NELLMEPIUS; SOSHANGUVE AND BRONKOSPRUIT 26 NOVEMBER 2014 The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) would like to condemn the barbaric act of the ANC Tshwane municipality, for illegally evicting poor black people who have their rights to basic shelter and security taken away from them, by the corrupt anc councillors who arbitrarily use state machinery, the Tshwane metro police, to shoot our people. The EFF Caucus whip, Mandisa Mashego, would like to point out that what is happening today to our people is exactly the same as what has happened to Africans under apartheid. The government of the day is using the same tactics previously used by the evil apartheid government to deprive Black people of the dignity to own land and property. “What is shocking today is that in all these areas (Nellmepius, Soshanguve and Bronkorspruit) is that all three ANC councillors went ahead instructing the ANC’s private army, the metro police, to evict our people without any court order. Bronkortspruit; Sekhulume District (900 informal homes were destroyed) Today, the Northern Gauteng High court ruled in favour of the Ndzundza Tribal council headed by Chief JJ Mahlangu and supported by EFF in the area. The Court confirmed that the evictions must stop - as our poor people have legally and proven bought the land from the Chief and Local Tribal Council and our people have full rights to be there. This comes after metro police illegally went on a shooting spree, attacking Black people in the area and injured 8 fellow community members. Though about 900 informal homes were destroyed by the anc, our people now can for now sleep safely - knowing that the court has again exposed the corrupt act of anc in the area. Soshanguve, near Ward 26 The correct actions of our people who erected temporary homes became an open invitation to the ANC councillor to instruct their metro police army to shoot and injure five people. This failed attempt to remove our people in the area is illegal as no court order was issued. The anc’s private army of the metro police went on to follow illegal evictions through illegal means. The anc will stop at nothing to demonstrate their hatred for their own kind. Nellmepius - Malemaville The anc thugs and their private army, stormed the area and burnt what our people call property, by burning their clothes and other belongings in order to break their resilient spirit. This won’t work; our people need land now and our people need shelter. The 15 people injured during the shootings, metro police was downright evil. The ANC in Tshwane has shown that they only need one thing from the poor; their vote! and they (anc) do not care about the poor in this country. In all these three incidents, EFF has observed one trend; it’s that no one cares about black people and this illegal shooting and NO ARREST of any person whom the ANC councillors in Tshwane claimed have occupied the land illegally, is not justified. It is a bullying tactic by ANC to crush the hopes of Black people in South Africa. EFF supports the struggle of our people in these areas; and as part of the community we (EFF MPLs) will always be there with our people.
