Masego Rahlaga | about an hour ago JOHANNESBURG – Hundreds of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) members have gathered in the Johannesburg CBD ahead of their march to the Gauteng legislature. Supporters are taking a stand against what they say is unfair treatment of senior party members who were kicked out of the legislature last month because they were wearing red overalls. Police were called in to remove them from the house. Members are singing songs insisting they will not be intimidated by those who oppose the way they dress. Last month, an altercation broke out between EFF members and police after speaker Ntombi Mekgwe ordered they be removed from the legislature. Mekgwe ruled that their red overalls were inappropriate because they had party insignia printed on them. At the time the party claimed that police assaulted two of their members.
