EKITI 2014: THE TRUE ARCHITECT OF MODERN EKITI. Who is an architect? To my understanding, an architect is the person who designs the structure of a building before it is constructed. He sees into the future, and take cognizant of the topography of the land, the ecological survey of the environment, the future in terms of durability, the safety precautions to safeguard the proposed occupants and take full responsibility to prescribe the materials needed to construct the building. Before 2003, Ekiti had earlier spent its preceding 4 years in an insinuation that we were been given zero allocation and thus we cant embark on developmental projects. But in 2003, Dr. Peter Ayodele Fayose came on board and liberated us from this deceit. And he started building a deserved future brick for Ekiti. The first thing he did was to begin and complete the dualisaton of Ado Ekiti township roads. This necessity came up as a result of the future vision of Fayose... Ekiti is better off for it today. What a vision? without this bold and heroic move by this rock solid personality, well still be having a single lane in our state capital. There was a story of a moribund site that was used as a dumping ground and people go to discharge there waste products. This site was so devastating and disgusting, because its located by the roadside in the state capital. Today the site is the only existing computer and GSM village of significance in Ekiti since 2004 till date. Go to Fayose market along Ajilosun and ask the people there to tell you the history of the place. Today, we will still be travelling to neighbouring states to buy phone and computer accessories if not for this innovation.. What a great vision again by Dr. Peter Fayose? Dr. Fayoses vision for Ekiti beautification has no bound as he procured generating sets to power street lights in the state capital..... a move criticized by oppositions and later emulated by them..... he made sure that the roadsides are devoid of faeces of the domestic animals by getting rid of them in the city.... If not for this visionary personified, we will still be witnessing a city road with domestic animals. Great vision again. The fountain hotel now used for venue of almost all state functions is a vision of Dr. Fayose... he was eventually criticized then but praised today. Same as the trade fare complex that is today the commercial site of Ekiti. Thumbs up oga Peter. The social security scheme of this present administration is the brain child of Dr. Ayodele Fayose... he was the one that started giving stipends to elders and youths alike for upkeep and maintenance....... What a great vision..... Can somebody pls point to 5 new things that is in Ekiti aside from the afore-listed? And if you cant, can you now understand who is the real architect of modern Ekiti. Lets return the visionary leader..... lets make Ekiti dream for the future again..... Support Ayodele Fayose. AYO NI oooooo
