EKITI ELECTIONS: LESSONS FOR ISOKO. 1. Political parties must norminate and sponsor popular candidates. This is because electioneering in Nigeria is now shifting to candidate rather than party. 2. The power of incumbency and allied powers may not play great roles again. Political parties must therefore get the first issue correct. 3. The people now control the election while the politicians participate only as candidates and campaigners. People now want to vote. 4. Lets not deceive ourselves. Social media will shape elections going forward. People will snapp and post election malpractice. People will snapp and post ballot box snatching. Results of units and polling stations will be released on social media. So that the elections will be of the people and not otherwise. 5. Thugs will vote and nothing more. Because any act of electoral violence will be recorded real time. So lets us focus on real issues and work out our political salvation in line with civility. Vote Sir. Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo and Mr. Emmanuel Egbabor as Chairmen of Isoko South and North. Nobody will count the vote you refuse to cast.
