Commissioner Oyebanji stressed that government would focus intensively on the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to ensure fiscal security and sustainability. Emphasizing that appropriate criteria would be adopted to evaluate and prioritize capital projects that are revenue generating in nature, Oyebanji said that the linkage between budget and Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) would be strengthened. He assured that government would continue to use the Public Private Partnership (PPP) option in ventures that are considered better handled by the private sector. The Commissioner appealed to the participating top government officials to make good use of their pedigree and wealth of experience as senior officers in government circle to achieve a robust outcome through fully participatory negotiation process. Earlier in his remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Budget, Economic Planning and Service Delivery, Mr. Sola Folorunso noted that there had been concerted efforts to reform the state budgeting process adding that the efforts had no doubt yielded fruits.
