ELECTORAL COMMISSION & GUY SCOTT Makes sad reading to see the so called Acting President Dr Guy Scott abuse the powers of his office by Instructing ECZ about how they should proceed in accepting nominations. The Electoral Commission is autonomous. The only body that can legally stop the nomination from going through is the Judiciary.A directive from the head of state amounts to interference with ECZ business and this would bring the impartiality of ECZ under question. The commission is not obliged to wait for the embatled parties to resolve their internal squabbles before the nominations can go ahead. My understanding is that the nominations will go ahead regardless. What ECZ should look out for is the duly signed nomination certificate.! Oh wait a minute can the president fire the CJ and the Head of the Electoral Commission if they ignore his instruction not to accept the PF nomination? The answer is a categorical no
