ELECTORAL OFFICER KARGIL CALLED MEETING OF POLICTAL PARTIES, ENSURE PROPER ENROLLMENT OF VOTERS: FIDA HUSSAIN Kargil, 28 Sept. 2013 ( H.S.) | As per the notification of the Chief Electoral Officer J&K, the Summery Revision of the Electoral Rolls in the State of J&K has been started from 16th of September 2014. In Kargil also the process has been started and till date the integration of the mother rolls with supplements and the draft of the mother electoral rolls have been completed. In this connection Deputy Commissioner Kargil and Electoral Officer Kargil Fida Hussain called a meeting of the political parties at Office Chamber of the Chief Executive Officer LAHDC Kargil. During the meeting Fida Hussain quoting the Supreme Courts Order and the Election Commissions orders, directed the Political Parties to appoint and inform their Booth Level Political Agents by 30th of September 2013 to monitor the electoral rolls revision process along with the booth level officers. Deputy Commissioner also advised the Political Parties as well as to the public through media that any youth who is attaining the age of 18 years upto 1-1-2014, should apply in advance for enrollment in the voters list with documentation proof. Fida Hussain explained that the period of filing of claims and objections is from 25th of September to 24th of October 2013, and disposal of claims and objections may be done by 23rd of October 2013. He added that special campaigning dates with booth level agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections will start from 1 October to 14th October and the whole process will complete on 6th of January 2014 with the final publication of Revised Electoral Rolls. The Meeting was attended by the representatives of Indian National Congress, National Conference and BJP Kargil who appreciated the decision of the Supreme Court and the Election Commission for appointing Election Agents during Revision of Electoral Rolls.
