This is sanctioned animal cruelty and abuse. For what it is worth, the Devore Shelter staff encourages trappers to trap animals to dump at the shelter. Often times traps are left for long periods of time totally unattended. The cats and kittens in fear try to escape the traps and sustain wounds to their faces. There are solutions, TNR (and SNR) as Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center advocates. Someone needs to put a leash on Josie Gonzales! But when I heard one of the women at the counter telling someone who was adopting a dog that Devore was NOT a high kill shelter, I about puked. Among all my cats, I have 3 very friendly ones, but if you put them in the shelter, they would freak, and be falsely labeled as not friendly, or maybe even feral. They freak at the vet, even though I am with them, petting them, while they are in their carrier. I can imagine how bad they would do in a shelter, but lovers at home.
