EMPATHY is what I think we need to bridge the communication gap between people.. People of color have similar stories.. And you would think they would understand.. But many dont understand when a native says.. This is our home people in Africa understand because of king leopold and South Africa.. People in New Zealand understand.. People in Australia understand.. But people of color In America usually dont understand because they too inadvertently benefit from our genocide.. But I think people of color are more likely to have empathy.. Because they carry the scars of slavery and forced removal from their homes.. I have found it difficult to find white people with empathy.. I sometimes feel that with some there is a Canyon.. And I am screaming this is our home we are sovereign nations and across the Canyon there are lights and illusion.. It would be easy for me to make a journey to their side.. And live a lie.. And become disillusioned by the lights and happy faces..But not very many want to come to our side of the Canyon where there is plenty of love.. But it isnt that bright and cheery.. Empathy is the bridge that helps.. A non native friend once told me I dont know what to do.. I would never understand and I have family members that feel the same.. I am not saying that all people do not have empathy.. But many forget with their privilege.. #icantbreath
