EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES “Smart Burundi”, a mobile telephone company operating under the brand name “Smart Burundi”, would like to hire young, dynamic and qualified employees for the following positions: Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management Expert (1) Mobile Financial Services Accountant (1) Business Analyst (1) IT Supervisor (1) Legal and Regulatory Compliance Manager (1) Marketing Manager (1) 1. Profile Required for Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management Expert Job Purpose: Responsible for assisting in ensuring the integrity of EAT (Burundi, Tanzania & Uganda)’s revenue and costs from the logging and metering stage through to billing and reporting. He will also manage and drive identification, correction, quantification and root cause analysis on all revenue impacting incidents/fraud issues affecting EAT revenues/ profits. Also participating in post incident reviews with the aim to deliver improvement / action plans with respective departments. Key Result Areas: • Product Assurance. • Fraud case assessment and investigation. • Baseline RA&FM Controls. • Mobile Money Services. • International Top 100 controls compliance. • Telco Fraud Management/ Review especially in line with industry case examples. • Financial reporting and visibility. • Monitoring Group Tools/ Solutions. • Tariff Change Monitoring. Educational Qualifications • A Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree in any business related field or experience in the telecoms industry and/or any audit firm with an intermediate understanding of the Telecoms networks and charging/billing systems • Minimum of 5 to 10 experience with 3 years’ experience in management role leading teams • Demonstrate ability to see big picture and provide useful and strategic advice and input across the company and on the senior executive team • Strong Excel spreadsheet and IT skills • An aptitude for attention to detail and a high level of concern for accuracy • Strong analytical and problem solving, strong coaching and leadership skills • Excellent verbal and written communication • Creative , forward thinker • Strong presentation skills • A Finance related under-graduate degree is considered to be a mandatory requirement. • Also preferred: ACCA, ACFE and CISA accreditation. 2. Profile of Mobile Financial Services Accountant (1) Job Purpose: To manage financial processes and procedures and optimize costs so as to ensure achievement of the set business objectives. Key Result Areas: • Develop standardized MFS Activity Universe and ensure its adherence • Institutionalize Best Practices & Leverage Group Synergies • Contribute to Cash Benefits for the business • Ensure First Time Right implementation of new products • Issue Closure • Accurate Reporting Educational Qualifications • A university degree in Accounting or any Business related area. • Professional qualification: CPA /ACA / ACCA (mandatory with second to third level acceptable) • Good knowledge of all accounting functional areas • Able to operate in a performance driven organization3 years’ experience and knowledge of working with commissions’ statements, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and/or receivables, and general ledger accounting. • Excellent software skills, especially in MS Excel, Access, ACL and Word • Basic knowledge and use of technical principles, theories and concepts in products and accounting. • Banking experience in settlements/reconciliation (mandatory) 3. Business Analyst (1) Job Purpose: To collect and analyze internal and external data regarding the performance and impact of “Smart Burundi”, Burundi business strategies and initiatives, to assess financial impact of new proposals, generate business insights and continuously analyze the market dynamics including competitor activities to support the CEO’s decisions making. Key Result Areas: • Validate information submitted to the MD from various business sections • Conduct independent feasibility assessment on proposals. • Monitoring & Evaluation • Reporting function • Market Analysis Educational Qualifications • Minimum qualification is a Masters Degree in Business Administration, degree in Statistics or Economics or Finance and Accounting or Engineering Computer Science, or any related field from an accredited institution. • Minimum of 3 years experience in related work • A solid knowledge of the industry, telecommunications technology, telecommunications products and industry trends • Multi-cultural and teamwork orientation • Knowledge of English and/or French 4. IT Supervisor (1) Job Purpose Responsible for overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions for “Smart Burundi” Company. This includes directing all IT operations to meet customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing infrastructure, applications, and development of new technical solutions. This position is a working manager’s position. Key Result Areas • IT Team Management • Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing work to subordinate employees • Ensure proper labor relations and employment conditions are maintained • Maintain records. prepare reports, and composes correspondence related to the work • Active directory , DNS , DHCP, servers with one being an NTP SERVER • Exchange servers, file and print Server, Backup Server, Proxy Server, System Monitor Server • Cisco Firewall ASA 5550, Cisco Router, Cisco Switch, PBX Server Management • Door Security System, Installation and configuration of Admin Network software • IT Stock Management Educational Qualifications • University degree in computer science, computer engineering, telecom , Business Administration, Public Administration, Mathematics or relevant discipline • Proficient with computers, Microsoft Windows, office applications • Excellent knowledge and experience with CISCO networking equipment including switch ES , routers, Firewalls, etc. Experience with windows servers and Microsoft Exchange, Preferably working knowledge of Linux/Unix, Exposure to scripting and programming languages; Efficient SQL, PL/SQL scripting; RDBMS, Oracle; Strong analytical skills • Experience from a Telecom Company Constitutes an advantage • Exposure to LINUX/UNIX OS; Experience from Telecom Company is required • Broad knowledge of information technology processing systems, • Attain CCNA, CCNP, CCNE and a VOIP/SIP certification 5. Legal and Regulatory Compliance Manager (1) Job Purpose Legal and Regulatory Compliance Manager will have joint responsibility for reviewing new laws and regulations applicable to “Smart Burundi”, s operations, then summarizing those laws in a format readily understandable by non-legal associates. Working with subject matter specialists in the Legal Department, business line leaders and compliance specialists, he/she will help ensure “Smart Burundi’s” compliance with applicable laws by both drafting new legal requirements and managing the process by which those requirements are integrated in the regulatory compliance process. Key Result Areas • Review new local and regional (East Africa) Laws and regulations for their applicability to Smart Burundi’s business operations; • Draft legal requirements derived from new laws and regulations in a way that non-legal personnel can understand and implement; • Advise business lines on the legal import of laws and regulations; • Assist in drafting of business-level controls to address legal requirements; • Identify and coordinate resolution of compliance or operational errors; • Provide reporting/management assistance to attorneys and business partners; • Provide legal representation of the Company in Courts and Tribunals in Burundi; and • All others responsibilities that the Management will assign from time requisite for the smooth running of the Company. Educational Qualifications • University Degree in Law or more with state bar admission and strong and long work experience. An advanced Degree will be an added advantage. • 5 to 10 years of experience practicing law, in-house legal department or law firm focuses on telecommunications commercial and regulatory or general commercial. • Ability and willingness to work as a team player, with comfort interacting with associates across departments and job levels. • Ability to work under pressure and delivering on time. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (strongly bilingual candidate: French and English are an absolute requirement).Proficiency in Kirundi is highly appreciated. 6. Marketing Manager Job Purpose: Energetic and intuitive marketing strategist with exceptional leadership and communication skills. Proven ability to identify opportunities and deliver. Effective strategies to generate results. Experienced in strategic marketing planning, branding, and product development. Adept in online and traditional marketing, and highly skilled in visual communications.
